Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who is this for?
A: Playful Voyagers is for ENM and lifestyle couples, singles, and friends who love to travel and want to do it without having to explain themselves. Whether you're newly open, established in the lifestyle, or just curious about what lifestyle-friendly travel actually looks like, you're in the right place. If you've ever googled "cruise for swingers" and winced at the results, we made this for you.
Q: What does "lifestyle-friendly" actually mean when it comes to cruising?
A: It means the crowd on board skews open-minded, adult, and non-judgmental. Some sailings, like Virgin Voyages attract a disproportionate number of ENM and LGBTQ+ travellers simply because of the vibe: adults-only, no kids, relaxed dress codes, and a culture that minds its own business in the best way. Others, like Desire or Temptation cruises, are fully dedicated lifestyle sailings where the entire ship is your community. We cover both and everything in between.
Q: Can you actually book a cruise for us?
A: No. We work with a qualified travel agent trading through New Travel Holidays, members of the Advantage Travel Partnership. Also a member of the community she can book Virgin Voyages and a range of other sailings and because we know what "lifestyle-friendly" actually means, you won't have to spell it out or feel awkward in the process. Drop us a message on the contact page and we'll make the referral (discretely) from there.
Q: Do I have to declare my relationship structure to book a cruise?
A: No. Cruise lines book cabins, not relationship types. Whether you're a couple, a throuple, or travelling as singles who know each other, your booking is your business. The only thing a cruise line needs is your passenger details. What you do with your holiday is entirely up to you.
Q: What's the difference between Virgin Voyages and a dedicated lifestyle cruise like Desire or Temptation?
A: Virgin Voyages is a mainstream adults-only cruise line that naturally attracts a more open-minded, alternative crowd but it's not explicitly a lifestyle sailing. Think of it as: your people will be there, but so will everyone else. Desire, Bliss, LLV and Temptation are fully dedicated lifestyle sailings, clothing optional, sexually open environments, events specifically designed for the lifestyle community. One is a brilliant holiday where you'll feel at home. The other is a holiday built specifically around the lifestyle. Neither is better, it depends entirely on what you're looking for.
Q: I've never been on a lifestyle cruise before. Where do I even start?
A: With us, hopefully. We've written honest, judgment-free guides to help you figure out which type of sailing suits you, what to expect on board, how to find your people, and how to book with confidence. Head to the Cruise Guide section and start there or if you'd rather just talk it through, get in touch directly.
Q: How do I find other ENM or lifestyle guests once I'm on board?
A: It depends on the sailing. On dedicated lifestyle cruises like Desire, there are organised events and it's built into the experience — you won't need to do any detective work. On mainstream sailings like Virgin Voyages, it's more subtle. The lifestyle community has its own signals and spaces, we cover this in detail in our guides so you're not going in blind.
Q: Will my privacy be protected?
A: Absolutely. We're a faceless account for a reason, we understand that privacy isn't optional for a lot of people in this community, it's essential. We will never share your name, your face, your relationship structure, or anything about your lifestyle without your explicit consent. If we ever need to pass details to a supplier to complete a booking, we'll only share what's strictly necessary.
Q: What's your social media policy?
A: Tag us in everything, we love it. But the rule is simple: no faces, no exceptions, unless you have explicit consent from every person in the shot. That applies to us too. We won't post your face, and we'd ask you to extend the same courtesy to others.
Q: Is there an age requirement?
A: For anything we recommend or facilitate, all guests must be 25 or over.
Q: I've got a question you haven't answered here?
A: Get in touch. Genuinely — no question is too niche or too awkward. It's kind of our thing.
